Baroque Crucified Jesus in Handcrafted Wood from Val Gardena

Baroque-inspired sculpture of Jesus Christ Crucified, depicting the culminating moment of the Passion. The emaciated body shows prominent ribs and bleeding wounds; the head, crowned with thorns, conveys a quiet expression of suffering and redemption.

Rich polychromy: a blue and light-blue loincloth with elaborate drapery and gold-leaf effect details. The Latin cross is finished in dark brown for contrast, topped by an INRI scroll in brilliant gold. Each piece is carved and hand‑painted by master craftsmen from Val Gardena, heirs to a centuries‑old tradition.

For fidelity of detail the statue is made in maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm (fine grain captures the smallest features). Larger models from 60 cm are produced in linden wood, chosen for stability and suitability for large-scale works.
