Sacred Heart of Jesus Sculpture in Val Gardena Wood, Hand-Painted

Sculpture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus from Val Gardena, presented upright and frontal with the left hand raised in blessing to reveal the stigmata. Wounds on hands and feet are marked in deep red as a reminder of the Passion.

The robe is finished in off-white and cream with delicate pastel shading to give volume and movement. The Sacred Heart at the centre of the chest is vivid red, surrounded by a golden crown of thorns and topped by golden flames. Face, hair and closed lips are carefully sculpted and painted. Available in coloured (C) and natural (N) finishes, wax-finished.

Made in the Dolomite sculptural tradition: sizes up to 56 cm are carved in precious maple wood; from 56 cm upwards the statue is carved in robust linden wood for greater stability and scale.
