Saint Walburga Hand Carved Oil Painted Wood Statue Val Gardena

The sacred art of Val Gardena is expressed in this magnificent sculpture of Saint Walburga, a work that radiates serenity and profound devotion. This statue is made following the rigorous Dolfi artisanal tradition. For variations up to 56 cm in size, maple wood is used, renowned for its fine grain and ideal for carving minute and precise details. For larger sizes, starting from 60 cm and above, the sculpture is carved from lime wood, chosen for its lightness and stability, essential for large works. The oil-colored finish, applied entirely by hand by our painters, gives chromatic depth and a soft satin effect, making each Walburga a unique masterpiece of Dolomite craftsmanship.
