Shepherdess with Fruit Basket - Maple Wood

The Dolfi shepherdess is a 10 cm miniature from Val Gardena, carved in the South Tyrolean tradition. The figure has a calm, contemplative expression and is designed for nativity scenes or as a small collector’s piece.

She wears a deep blue gown with a burnt‑orange short cloak and a golden ribbon in her hair. Her clasped hands hold a small basket containing a bunch of grapes, an apple and a stylised pear.

Entirely carved from maple wood, the piece benefits from the timber’s fine grain and durability. Hand finishing enhances the wood’s natural texture and the depth of the colours.
