The Dolfi master artisans have used a palette of pastel and natural colours to enhance the purity of the scene: the inner antique rose coloured dress is wrapped in an outer pale grey-blue drapery. The folds of the garments are rendered with a meticulousness that gives depth and dynamism to the figure, accentuated by the refined gold-coloured border on the edge of the mantle.
