Wooden Horse in Maple Wood

An equine sculpture in a calm, noble profile pose, finished in a warm pinkish-beige that evokes a light bay or palomino. Musculature on the shoulders and thighs is clearly defined; the flowing mane and dark tail are modelled in wavy strands against a smooth, matte body. Sculpted nostrils and dark hooves complete a neutral, contemplative expression.

Carved entirely from maple wood, the material preferred for Dolfi small and medium sculptures (under 56 cm). Offered hand-painted, where the pinkish shades enhance three-dimensionality, or in a natural version that celebrates the wood’s texture.
