Standing Donkey in Maple Wood

The Donkey Dolfi is a carved sculpture from Val Gardena that captures the animal’s gentle, dignified character. It is available in sizes from 8 cm up to 16 cm and is carved from maple wood.

The figure is shown with its head slightly bowed and eyelids partially lowered, giving a meditative, tired expression. Colours are warm browns—from light sand to a deeper brown on the mane and finishes—with a matte or semi-matte surface that preserves the tactile quality of the wood and adds subtle depth.

Maple wood’s fine, homogeneous grain suits small and medium sculptures, allowing precise detail in both hand-painted finishes (C, 3G) and the natural version (N). The piece reflects the centuries-old craftsmanship of South Tyrol.
