Statue of Saint Heribert Bishop with Crozier and Book, Polychrome Wood Sculpture

A representation of Saint Heribert the Bishop in a contemplative pose, his gaze directed at an open book symbolising wisdom. The vestments are painted in deep burgundy and cream, set against a luminous crozier and mitre with hand-applied bright gold details.

Carved by the sculptors of Val Gardena, with careful attention to facial lines, folds and beard. Available in different finishes (coloured, natural, three shades) to enhance the wood’s texture.

Made of precious maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm to preserve fine detail and a compact grain; for sizes from 60 cm upwards linden wood is used for a lighter, more imposing statue.
