Wooden Statue Saint Joseph with Child Jesus and the Polychrome Lily

This sculpture depicts the sacred intimacy between Saint Joseph and the Child Jesus. Saint Joseph stands upright, supporting the Child with his left arm; his bearded face is calm and reassuring.

The Child is seated, with a sweet expression and his left arm raised in blessing. The drapery is finely carved and painted to give depth and realism; Saint Joseph’s dark brown cloak reveals a bright gold lining, part of the polychrome finish which is entirely hand-painted.

Crafted in the Val Gardena tradition, the statue is offered in polychrome, natural wood or three shades of brown. Sizes up to 56 cm are carved in maple wood; larger sizes are carved in linden wood.
