Merciful Jesus in Val Gardena Wood with Rays of Light

The Divine Mercy icon, carved by the artisans of Val Gardena, depicts the Merciful Jesus in an upright posture with a gentle expression and eyes turned forward to bless the observer.

Rays of light in salmon pink and light blue — symbolising Blood and Water — stand out against an ivory robe, creating a dynamic three-dimensional effect. The central halo has a polished gold-leaf gilt finish that contrasts with the hand-painted surfaces.

Each piece is unique: the coloured finish reveals brushstrokes, realistic drapery folds and discreetly represented stigmata. Made from maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm and linden wood for 60–200 cm, finished to Dolfi quality for durability and definition.
