This Saint Dorothy sculpture is made in the Val Gardena tradition, hand-carved and hand-painted by expert artisans. The figure emphasises refined carving and careful modelling of the drapery and facial features, each piece unique.

The dress is a deep teal with extensive gold leaf gilding on the crown, mantle edges and symbolic details, providing bright contrast to the natural tones of the skin and the flowers.

Faces show a serene, slightly tilted gaze. To ensure fidelity and longevity, pieces up to 56 cm are carved from maple wood; other sizes are in linden wood, following the region’s long-established sculptural techniques.
