Hand-Carved Wooden Saint Florian Statue from Val Gardena

Carved by Val Gardena artists, this statue of Saint Florian captures the saint’s calm intercession amid the drama of flames. The figure wears a splendid armour and feathered helmet, with a burgundy cloak lined in gold and a composed, forward gaze directed towards the fire at his feet.

Every detail is hand-painted: vivid red flames consuming the small dwelling, metallic silver armour and the warm tones of the wood beneath. The white, sinuous object in his left hand represents the water that overcomes the fire and is a key iconographic element.

Available in coloured, natural or three brown finishes and in a wide range of sizes. Made of precious maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm for fine detail; larger versions (up to 200 cm) are carved in stable, consistent linden wood.
