Description

In 1798, during the period of Catholic persecution in Vietnam, some fled and hid in a small jungle. Suffering from sickness and starvation, a vision of The Blessed Mother appeared before them while they prayed at the foot of a tree. She advised them to feed on the nearby fern La Vang, and using the fern as medicine, healed the sick.
