Standing Camel in Maple Wood

This sculpture of a Camel captures its dignity and quiet toil in the Nativity. The animal stands in a static, dignified pose with its head slightly raised and turned, conveying a serene calm after a long desert journey.

Carved in the Val Gardena tradition, the surface shows light brown, sand-coloured tones blending with dark brown to create a relief texture that mimics coarse hair on the hump and neck. The mouth is slightly ajar, revealing detailed lips and teeth.

Made entirely of maple wood, valued for its fine, compact grain, the figure is available in coloured (C) or natural (N) finishes. The coloured version is hand-painted with natural pigments for enhanced realism, making it a distinctive addition to a traditional Nativity scene.
