Wooden Sculpture Immaculate Conception Madonna from Val Gardena

The Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Wood Sculpture by Dolfi sublimely captures the grace and purity of the Virgin Mary. The work is a masterpiece of carving entirely crafted by the master artisans of Val Gardena, guardians of a centuries-old tradition.

The Madonna is depicted in a posture of quiet contemplation and offering, with her hands open in a gesture of universal welcome. The colors have been chosen to enhance the symbolism: the mantle is a deep ultramarine blue, illuminated by precious metallic gold finishes that follow its contours, in stark contrast to the soft ivory-colored tunic. Her serene expression and slightly downcast gaze convey profound peace.

A striking detail is the base: the Virgin rests delicately on the celestial sphere, rich with golden stars, as she triumphs over evil, symbolized by the coiled snake. Every detail, from the folds of the garments to the delicacy of the face, is rendered with a precision that only South Tyrolean art can guarantee.

Materials and Finishes: This statue is crafted from fine woods selected to ensure the highest quality carving. Made from maple wood for sizes up to 56cm and linden wood for other sizes, it is available in variants C (hand-painted), N (natural), or 3G (three shades of brown).
