Madonna and Child Enthroned, Handcrafted Maple Wood Sculpture

This serene Madonna and Child shows Mary seated on a throne, head inclined in gentle contemplation, eyes half-closed and lips barely smiling, while the Child sits on her knee offering a blessing with a raised hand. The cloaks are finely carved with soft, realistic folds and brilliant gold finishes that highlight the cloak lining and throne details.

The statue is hand-painted with rich pigments, from the pink‑terracotta of the dress to the deep blue‑grey of the mantle; the light, natural complexions of the faces emphasise devotion and maternal love. A Val Gardena work of craftsmanship: the 20 cm and 40 cm sizes are carved from precious maple wood and come in painted or natural finishes that enhance the wood grain, continuing a long sculptural tradition.
