Hand Carved and Painted Wooden Statue of Saint Angela of Foligno

Saint Angela of Foligno stands in a contemplative pose, head gently bowed and gaze lowered. The monastic habit is carved with deep, realistic folds; the dark brown veil and scapular contrast with the lighter habit while the white cincture and coif frame the face.

She holds a simple wooden crucifix and a closed book, symbols of penance and mystical teaching. Entirely hand-crafted, the finish highlights the natural grain of the wood—particularly on the base and the book—and gives the opaque, waxed appearance typical of Alpine sacred art.

Made in the Val Gardena sculptural tradition: maple wood for sizes up to 56 cm and lime wood for larger sizes. A compact, devotion-focused sculpture suitable for the home or place of worship.
