Polychrome and Gilded Wooden Statue St. Benjamin of Persia | Dolfi

Statue of Saint Benjamin of Persia carved in the Val Gardena tradition. The upright figure has a solemn, contemplative pose with voluminous drapery that suggests movement and fine sculptural skill.

The face shows a thick beard and carefully carved curly hair, the gaze cast down in meditation. The cloak is a terracotta-red with large areas finished in bright gold leaf, set against the sober, earthy tones of the tunic beneath.

Each piece is unique, hand-carved and finished by Dolfi artisans. Sizes up to 56 cm are carved in maple wood for fine detail; larger sizes are made in linden wood to convey greater presence.
